A young girl is tired and disappointed as her beloved one is abroad, at a foreign sea (amare). She begs to be taken by the waves and to be drowned.

A passer - by woodcutter, having heard of the cause of her disappointment, promises to bring back to her her beloved one. As a reward she promises to give all of her dowry (paia tuta) : ~
